Privacy Policy

Atlas is a free world-quiz game. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not build a profile of who you are. This page explains what data leaves your device, what stays on it, and how advertising on the site works.

Information stored on your device

Your progress is saved only in your browser's local storage: your language choice, the IDs of questions you have seen or answered correctly, and the highest color tier you have earned on the world map. This lets your map keep its colors after you close the tab. None of this data is sent to our servers, and we cannot see it.

You can erase it at any time through your browser's site-data settings. Clearing it resets your map, but nothing else on your device is affected.

Advertising

Atlas is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense, and other advertising partners may also serve ads here. These vendors may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to measure the performance of ads and to show ads that are more relevant to you.

In particular, Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or by visiting www.aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from many vendors at once.

Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies, though doing so may mean ads are less relevant to you and some preferences are not remembered.

Hosting and connection data

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Your browser and our hosting provider automatically process ordinary technical information needed to deliver the page, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your request. This is standard for any website and is used only to serve and secure the site.

Analytics

At present Atlas does not use audience analytics. If analytics or additional trackers are introduced later, this page will be updated before they go live.

Children

Atlas is a general-audience learning game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and advertising shown on the site is managed by our ad partners under their own policies.
